First Aid Training
As part of our Life Curriculum, all Reception pupils take part in first-aid training delivered by externally trained professionals. These engaging, age-appropriate workshops introduce children to essential life skills, helping them to understand how to stay safe in an emergency, how to call 999, and how to help someone who is hurt or unwell.
Following this, all pupils participate in a ‘Site, Chop, Chew’ workshop. This practical session develops their understanding of safe eating and food preparation while teaching them what to do if someone is choking. Pupils learn how to recognise potential risks, make safe choices and respond appropriately in situations where they or others may need help.
These experiences form an important part of our commitment to equipping children with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills they need to keep themselves and others safe, both in school and beyond.
