Work Based Placements

We receive a large number of enquiries from individuals seeking work-based placements at our school.

We only offer work-based placements through accredited education, training or employment providers. If you are interested in undertaking a work-based placement with us, please speak to your accredited provider, who will liaise with the school on your behalf. If your provider has directed you to complete our application form, please do so using the link below.

In line with statutory safeguarding requirements, all work-based placements at Someries Infant School and Early Childhood Education Centre require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before the placement can commence. This reflects the requirements for individuals undertaking regulated activity with children. Please note that the school does not process Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks on behalf of individuals undertaking work-based placements. It is the responsibility of your accredited provider to obtain a valid Enhanced DBS certificate before the placement can begin. We also require two satisfactory references and successful completion of an accredited child protection and safeguarding course before any placement begins. Without this information, your placement will not be able to commence.

As part of the application process, you will be required to provide assurances that you have completed – or are in the process of completing – an accredited child protection and safeguarding course. Before your placement commences, we will also need to see and take a copy of your your accredited child protection and safeguarding course certificate, original Enhanced DBS certificate and a copy of an official identification record for our records.

Work-based placement opportunities are limited and we are unable to accommodate every request. Once we have received your completed application, we will consider it alongside the information provided by your accredited provider. If a suitable placement becomes available, we will contact you with further information.
