Values-based Education
Leaders provide many opportunities for pupils to develop and flourish. Through the carefully constructed personal development and diversity programme, pupils learn about different religions, cultures and why they should respect difference.

Our values-based provision aims to:
- encourage positive behaviour and conduct by developing strong values within and amongst our pupils
- develop pupils’ understanding of what values are and why they are important in life
- encourage children to ‘live our values’ in all aspects of their lives, both in and out of school
- promote values to pupils in every aspect of school life
- promote values in the way in which adults interact with each other and with pupils
- display our school values and encourage all visitors to take account of them during their time in our school
External recognition of our values-based provision
Someries Infant School and Early Childhood Education Centre has been successfully awarded the International Values-based Trust’s quality mark as a values-based school.
After spending a full day in our school experiencing lessons, playtime, lunchtime, talking with staff, parents and carers, governors and pupils, our assessor, Dr. Neil Hawkes, concluded that we are an outstanding values-based school and praised many aspects of our work.
