Celebrating achievements

At Someries Infant School and Early Childhood Education Centre, we recognise children's achievements, both inside and outside of school, and ensure that all children are congratulated when they follow our two school rules of working hard and being nice to people

Achievement Awards

Every week, each class teacher chooses two Achievers. These are children who have achieved something special that week. Achievers are presented with a special certificate that they can take home to display and talk about their achievements with their families. Achievers also receive a gold star badge.

Values Champions

Each week, a Values Champion from each class is chosen by the Class Teacher.

Our Values Champions are those who have been recognised as ‘living our values’ in all aspects of their life, both in and out of school. Children become Values Champions based on nominations from others.

All of our Values Champions receive a special certificate and a badge which they wear with pride.

Head Teacher and Deputy Head Teacher Awards

These awards are used to celebrate excellence throughout the school.

When class teachers recognise a child has completed a piece of excellent work, they can send them Mr Scott or Mr Millington to share and explain their learning.

Children receive a special sticker and a greeting card explaining their award to share with their family at home.

Hot chocolate Fridays

Every Friday, one child from each class joins Mr Millington for hot chocolate and a biscuit.

Each child is chosen by their Class Teacher because they have followed our two school rules of working hard and being nice to people throughout the week.
